Structural pallet racking

Structural racking is built from hot-rolled C-channel bolted together. It is heavier and tougher than roll-formed rack, so it shrugs off forklift bumps and carries big loads. It is the standard choice for drive-in rack, cold storage and busy shipping docks.

Why structural costs more and lasts longer

Thicker, open-section steel can take a hit and keep its shape, and damage is easy to see. Bolted connections don't pop loose. Over a long life in a hard-working building, that often costs less than replacing damaged roll-formed uprights.

Used structural stock moves fast

Used structural rack is in high demand and comes up less often than Redi-Rack. Call us with your sizes. We often have pieces before they are listed online.

Supplied, installed and certified

Whatever system you choose, RackGuy handles it end to end: components from our used stock where it makes sense, installation by our own crews, and a PSR and load signage so it's ready for inspection. How certification works.

Common questions

What's the difference between structural and Redi-Rack?

Structural rack uses hot-rolled channel steel with bolted beams. Redi-Rack is cold-formed from sheet and uses boltless connectors. Structural is stronger and more impact resistant; roll-formed is lighter and cheaper.

Is structural racking good for freezers?

Yes. It handles the heavy, frequent forklift traffic common in cold storage and is the usual base for freezer drive-in systems.

Can structural racking be reconfigured?

Yes, but beams are bolted, so changes take longer than with Redi-Rack. Bolt holes are typically on a 2 inch pitch.
