Push-back racking

In push-back rack, each pallet sits on a cart riding inclined rails. Load a new pallet and it pushes the others back. Pull the front one and the rest roll forward. You get several pallets deep per lane without driving into the rack.

Where push-back fits

Push-back sits between selective and drive-in. Each lane holds one product, but every lane has its own face on the aisle, so you can store many more SKUs than drive-in at similar density.

Used push-back is hard to find

Carts and rails are application-specific, so used push-back comes up rarely. We often combine used frames and beams with new push-back carts to cut the cost.

Supplied, installed and certified

Whatever system you choose, RackGuy handles it end to end: components from our used stock where it makes sense, installation by our own crews, and a PSR and load signage so it's ready for inspection. How certification works.

Common questions

How many pallets deep does push-back racking go?

Usually 2 to 6 pallets deep per lane.

Is push-back racking FIFO or LIFO?

Push-back is last in, first out, because pallets load and unload from the same face.

Push-back or pallet flow?

Push-back is LIFO and costs less. Pallet flow is FIFO and suits dated or perishable goods, but costs more per position.
