Racking type

Selective pallet racking

Selective rack is the standard warehouse racking: one pallet deep from each aisle, so every pallet is reachable without moving another. If you have many different products and a regular counterbalance forklift, this is almost always where to start.

Single or back-to-back rows

Rows against a wall are single-deep. Rows in the middle of the floor are usually back-to-back, tied together with row spacers. Aisle width is set by your forklift, commonly 10 to 13 feet for counterbalance trucks and narrower for reach trucks.

Built from Redi-Rack or structural steel

Most selective rack is roll-formed Redi-Rack: boltless, quick to adjust and easy to find used. Structural selective rack uses bolted hot-rolled channel and stands up better to impacts and heavy loads.

Accessories that matter

Wire decks, pallet supports, column guards, end-of-aisle guards and row spacers turn a set of frames and beams into a safe, code-ready system. We stock all of them.

Supplied, installed and certified

Whatever system you choose, RackGuy handles it end to end: components from our used stock where it makes sense, installation by our own crews, and a PSR and load signage so it's ready for inspection. How certification works.

Common questions

How many pallet positions fit in a bay?

A typical 96 inch bay holds two standard 40 x 48 pallets per level. With three beam levels plus the floor, that is eight pallet positions per bay.

What aisle width do I need?

It depends on your forklift's right-angle stacking requirement. Counterbalance trucks often need about 11 to 13 feet; reach trucks can work in 8 to 10 feet. We confirm this during layout.

Can I add levels later?

Yes. Beams on Redi-Rack can be moved or added in 2 inch increments, as long as the frame's capacity and the new beam spacing are checked.
