Density on a budget

Double-deep racking

Double-deep rack places two rows of selective rack back to back with no aisle between, so each side stores two pallets deep. You remove half the aisles, gain a lot of positions, and still use standard rack components.

The truck is the deciding factor

Double-deep needs a reach truck with extending forks. If you already have one, or are buying one, double-deep is usually the cheapest density upgrade because it uses ordinary used frames and beams.

Supplied, installed and certified

Whatever system you choose, RackGuy handles it end to end: components from our used stock where it makes sense, installation by our own crews, and a PSR and load signage so it's ready for inspection. How certification works.

Common questions

Do I need special forklifts for double-deep racking?

Yes. A double-deep reach truck with pantograph or extending forks is required to reach the rear pallet.

How much space does double-deep save?

It removes about half the aisles compared to single-deep selective, which adds a significant number of positions in the same footprint.

Can I convert my selective rack to double-deep?

Often yes. We check frame depth, row spacing and beam capacities, add the extra frames and re-layout the aisles.
